MARK MANDIGMA | CHEMISTRY IN A BOTTLE
Have you ever walked in a grocery’s isle full of bottles peeked at their ingredients listing? Or perhaps visited a local pharmacy, and wondered: what is in a bottle of pills that make them work? Now a days, we are surrounded by these day-to-day conveniences, most of which are packaged in a bottle of some sort. However, we still face difficulties such as health crises indicating that there are still a lot in this world we live in that we do not fully understand yet. Therefore, scientists are in constant pursuit of knowledge and solutions for such dilemmas.
In this talk, Mark John P. Mandigma, an M. Sc. in Advanced Synthesis and Catalysis alumni at the University of Regensburg and a former full time industrial chemist, will share how the aforementioned questions enthused him towards the path of chemical research and where his chemistry have brought him thus far (i.e., both the exposures to the latest technologies and places here and abroad to do research).

Zwei Jahre Pandemie haben unser Leben nicht nur hinsichtlich unserer Arbeitsweisen verändert sondern nehmen auch Einfluss auf die Art und Weise wie wir kommunizieren. Dabei hat sich die Kommunikation nicht nur in einem Bereich gewandelt, sondern sowohl verbale, non-verbale als auch paraverbale Ebene sind betroffen. Veränderte Distanzzonen, neue Begrüßungsrituale oder Zoom Fatigue sind nur einzelne Phänomene, die uns durch die Pandemie begleiten. So sind Situationen, die vor der Pandemie als absoluter Normbruch galten, plötzlich Teil unseres Alltages.
Ein Ausblick wie wir mit diesen Situationen umgehen und aus kommunikativer Sicht in Zukunft eine Win-Win-Situation schaffen.
